About: Steve Jones serves as global chairman and CEO of Allied Universal – the world’s leading security and facility services provider and trusted partner to more than 400 of the Fortune 500. With operations in more than 100 countries and territories, the company is the third-largest private employer in North America and seventh in the world.
Jones joined Universal Protection Services in 1996 and, through organic growth and mergers and acquisitions, has grown the $12-million business into Allied Universal with annual revenue of approximately $23 billion.
He has received numerous honors and awards including the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Orange County Business Journal’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Vistage International Leadership Award and has been named the top job creator for two consecutive years by Inc. Magazine.
Jones has participated as a subject matter expert in thousands of interviews for top national and international news organizations such as Reuters, CNN, FOX News, Forbes, Bloomberg, Yahoo! Finance, The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times.
He is the author of No Off Season: The Constant Pursuit of More, a motivating playbook for achieving more in business, leadership and life.
Education: Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and an MBA and honorary doctorate of humane letters from the University of Redlands.
Involvement: Jones is a member of World 50, G100, Young Presidents’ Organizations (YPO), The CEO Forum, International Security Management Association, Security Industry Association (SIA) and ASIS International. He serves on the Board of Directors for Allied Universal, the International Security Ligue, Discount Tires and the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
A passionate philanthropist along with his wife Stacy, Jones is committed to eradicating human trafficking. In the last seven years, the annual charity fundraiser the couple underwrites has raised more than $13 million for Vera’s Sanctuary, the country’s only licensed residential treatment shelter that provides licensed drug treatment services for human trafficking victims ranging in age from 15 to 26.
He also volunteers his time on higher education campuses across the nation inspiring the next generation of leaders at Babson College, University of Redlands, Southern Methodist University and Auburn University, to name a few.
